Governing Board
The SEAICRN Governing Board (GB) represents the varied interests of the SEAICRN partners to reach consensus on the strategic direction for the Network.
The Primary Responsibilities of the Governing Board are:

Establishing and communicating the SEAICRN vision, mission, and values

Advocating for the Network
-
Providing high level oversight to the progress and performance of the Network

Approving strategic plan and periodically review strategic direction

Identifying sources of resources for SEAICRN

Approving the appointment of the SEAICRN Executive Committee members

Appointing the Network Director

Approving new Network partners

"Dr Supamit Chunsuttiwat is a senior staff of the Department of Disease Control (DDC), Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) of Thailand, in the position of Senior Expert in Preventive Medicine. Currently, he supervises national immunization and emerging infectious disease control programs. He had training in medicine, field epidemiology and public health. Since 1985, has been working in policy and strategy development and the coordination of national immunization program and the control programs of several communicable diseases including dengue, diarrheal diseases, zoonotic diseases and emerging infectious. For emerging infectious disease control, since 1994 he has been involved in the development and coordination of policy and strategies for preparedness and response to emerging infectious diseases that include Nipah, SARS, avian influenza. He was involved intensively in the response to influenza H1N1 2009 pandemic" |

Before that he was at the University of Glasgow, UK where he held Beit and Royal Society Fellowships before becoming a member of staff; latterly as Professor of Parasitology. He was also at various times head of division, assistant director of faculty and deputy dean of graduate school. His research interests focussed on the cell biology, immunology, genetics, genomics and population biology of trypanosome parasites that cause African sleeping sickness in humans and Nagana in livestock. He has also worked on the genomics of malaria parasites and the immunoepidemiology of schistosomes" |
