Mission and Objectives
The South East Asia Infectious Disease Clinical Research Network (SEAICRN) strives to advance the scientific knowledge and clinical management of infectious diseases in the region of South East Asia through integrated and collaborative clinical research.
The SEAICRN's objectives
Conducting protocol-based, multi-institutional studies in accordance with international standards.
Enhancing regional capacities for the conduct of clinical research, particularly local human resources.
Promptly disseminating information through presentations at meetings, publications of articles, and advising national authorities.
Carrying out research that addresses the strategic priorities of partner Governments and others including the Millenium Development Goals.
Scope
The SEAICRN's clinical research studies may include those related to diagnosis, pathogenesis, treatment and prevention of different infectious diseases in the region. The SEAICRN strives to ensure that we add value to the field. Priority will be given to research:

That is of clear public health importance in the region

For which there are obvious scientific opportunities

That takes advantage of the capabilities of the Network

That furthers the mission of the Network
The Network is committed to enhancing the clinical research capacity of individuals and institutions within the SEAICRN, which will include scientific training, leadership, management, conduct, administration, and oversight of studies. Examples include training of participating members in conducting studies according to international guidelines; developing laboratory and diagnostic expertise; enhancing institutional support structures for conducting and overseeing studies; and, establishing internal quality assurance and quality control systems.
