We are a collaborative partnership of hospitals and research institutions in Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and Singapore formed in September 2005. 

The South East Asia Infectious Disease Clinical Research Network (SEAICRN) is a collaborative partnership of hospitals and research institutions in Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and Singapore formed in September 2005.  The SEAICRN focuses on clinical research on human and avian influenza and other infectious diseases of public health importance in the region.  The Network develops and implements protocol-based studies following international standards.

The Network also opens opportunities for scientists and research team members from participating hospitals and institutions, often referred to as 'Clinical Research Sites' to pursue short and long term scholarships, academic and clinical centered, either in their own cities or abroad to further strengthen their own and their team’s research capacity. Participation in study-specific seminars and workshops is offered to improve their capacity in conducting quality clinical research.

University of Oxford, Center for Tropical Medicine, Nuffield Department of Medicine provides technical leadership and administrative support.

Our Funding

The principal sources of funding for the Network are the US National Institutes of Health’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, USA and the Wellcome Trust, UK. The South East Asia Infectious Disease Clinical Research Network (SEAICRN) is a five year collaborative partnership of hospitals and institutions in Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and Singapore, funded by an international  consortium including the USA National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease (NIAID) and Wellcome Trust, UK and is under the technical leadership and administrative support of University of Oxford, Center for Tropical Medicine, Nuffield Department of Medicine.
The Network is committed to developing the clinical research capacity of institutions and advancing clinical management and scientific knowledge to improve patient care and human health.
